CEPM reinforces its security measures for the 2024 Cyclonic Season

Bávaro, La Altagracia.- The Punta Cana-Macao Energy Consortium (CEPM) announced the implementation of a comprehensive set of preventive and response measures for this year’s cyclone season, which extends from June 1 to November 30.

According to the forecasts of the National Office of Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration (NOAA) of the United States, this year’s hurricane season is expected to be more active than normal, with between 17 and 25 named storms and up to 13 hurricanes.

Given this, CEPM is taking proactive actions to guarantee the security and continuity of electrical service in its concession area.

Additionally

Additionally, on the website cepm.com.do/temporada-ciclonica-2024 and on its social networks, the company has enabled a special section dedicated to the cyclone season. From there, customers can find detailed information on security measures, categories of hurricanes, types of alerts and emergency contacts from both CEPM and relief agencies.

This initiative reinforces its commitment to anticipate events and guarantee a safe season for everyone. «At CEPM, our priority is security and continuity of service for our clients. We anticipate the challenges of the hurricane season with robust preventive measures and exhaustive planning«.

The quality of our service and the protection of our community are fundamental. We are committed to ensuring that every home and business in our service area is prepared and protected,” said Óscar San Martín, General Manager of CEPM.

After Hurricane Fiona hit in 2022, CEPM managed to restore electrical service despite the fact that the 70% of its circuits were affected during the storm. This success was due to the innovation and cutting-edge technology that the company has been reinforcing, which demonstrates its ability to face significant challenges and guarantee service continuity.
